BRUTALISM

Brutalist architecture is an architectural style that emerged during the 1950s in the United Kingdom, among the reconstruction projects of the post-war era. It is normally recognised as a dull brutal looking building made out of concrete. If you had to describe brutalist buildings in one word most people would say concrete.

For this piece of work I used the picture off google, then I used a magnetic cutting tool to get rid of their backgrounds, I then used the layers and building to overlap the images, after that I merged the layers and duplicated them by using ctr j I moved them around and sized them to the page by using ctr t. After that I used a text layer and made a text font and moved it to a diagonal position.

I like the way your surrounded by buildings and it feels like your standing in the picture yourself looking up. to improve I would cut the buildings out better for a more neater and sharper result.

I then edited it to look more brutalist by making it black and white.

I think that maybe it could cave in a bit more by adding more images. maybe could remove one of the bigger buildings to make it less repetitive.

i think the most aesthetically pleasing part of this work is the way your surrounded by buildings and it feels like your standing in the picture yourself looking up. to improve I would cut the buildings out better for a more neater and sharper result.
